I enjoyed reading this article. As Active Rain quickly approaches 140,000 "members," it will be interesting to see how all of this plays out and for how much. They have done a great job with loyalty and brand awareness within a core group. The fact that many of the members are not as active as their "top" bloggers is not indicative of something they have done wrong, it is merely a reflection of the industry in general. (imo) While it seems AR has been around for a long time, I think the industry as a whole is just barely begining to understand the value of blogging and social networking. Will that value justify the large numbers mentioned here? Who knows? It will be fun to watch...
I loved Jeff Turner's "Realtor on Realtor" comment at Inman Connect. Obviously, both of you know a thing or two about social networks. :-)
I enjoy the walk score app for checking out neighborhoods. With the price of gas, it has become much more relevant for people choosing a new community. Glad to be heading to San Fran next week for Inman Connect. I'm not even going to need a car! :-) www.RailLife.com/blog
