Pam Buda Hi there Teresa, news update since my last comment. Zipforms Professional announced improved mobile support for multiple platforms including the iPad and iPhone. This is the contract authoring tool that many of use use to create contracts and then shoot them over to Docusign. Now we can do the same on the iPad and iPhone (that would be painful). It is not a WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) implementation but it will get the job done. No integartion with Docusign either, but you can email the docs to Dropbox or your Docusign account. One more step!

Pam Buda www.WineCountryandHorses.com My rationale for using an iPad in my business was based on the use of Docusign to write contracts on the fly, or at the very least, to type up my notes for an agent's visual inspection rather than try to decipher my scrawl at a later date...no easy task! While the new Docusign app for the iPad is fabulous, it is still tricky to modify documents on the iPad for use in Docusign. I have played with iAnnotate but find it not very satisfactory for real authoring of a Zipform. I suppose you could create a listing agreement in advance on Zipforms (what we use in CA) and then set it up on Docusign at the office on your computer, and have your clients sign on the iPad, but it is difficult to use the iPad solely to author contracts at this point. Supposedly you can use templates on Docusign to help, and Zipforms is theoretically working on more robust mobile support, but I am not holding my breath. Kudos to the Docusign folks for being so responsive. In the meantime, I agree, even without the ideal authoring app, the iPad is a very powerful took for me with both buyers and sellers. It keeps the focus on the content you are presenting, rather than the hardware. I use it for everything you mentioned and more. It is only a matter of time before the applications to support what we become available. I was very fortunate in that an appreciative client gave ME and iPad as a closing gift!

Thank you for a timely post. I eagerly await the iPad or Goodlepad (I am sure they are not far behind) so that I can have clients sign on the spot-assuming there is a Docusign app that allows for more than just document review when the iPad comes out. I am very happy to say that our Prudential California Realty offices in Sonoma County (North of San Francisco) have kicked off 2010 by going paperless on our transactions. All of our agents are on Docusign and an on-line transaction management system. It has already made the lives of both my clients and myself much easier. We were recently able to respond very quickly in a multiple offer situation despite the fact that all of us were in different cities. It made the process pain free and fast! Eventually it will be the norm. Pam Buda www.WineCountryandHorses.com
