  • Hello Nick, I switched over
    By Randy ChaversDecember 10, 2010 - 6:55am

Hello Nick, I switched over to Google Apps about 2 months ago and it's been a great experience. No more waiting for Outlook to download the new mail. Also, the G-apps Marketplace has outstanding add-ons like Stupeflix Studio, Gist, etc. that auto-integrate with Google Apps. Your recommendation to wait for the weekend to modify your MX records is a very good suggestion. It may be a good idea to talk to your host tech to make sure you don't change the wrong setting. No one wants to wait hours to propagate a correction. Thanks for sharing, Randy Randy Chavers Director, Internet Marketing RE/MAX Metro Atlanta randychavers@remax.net

  • Correct on every point.
    By Randy ChaversNovember 20, 2008 - 8:40am

Correct on every point. During 21 years as a broker, including several as a managing broker for the biggest industry gorilla out there, I frequently found myself asking WHY? Why rent an expensive office to accommodate dozens of people when producers in upper quartiles rarely use it, preferring to work from their home or mobile office? Why have a receptionist with an expensive phone system when virtual PBX systems are available for under $20 per month ? Why spend money on classifieds in the newspaper when their online home section is dramatically cheaper, more effective and links to my website? Why develop expensive in-house systems when you can choose from a myriad of ASP's who will provide the same service for small monthly fees and provide frequently upgraded functionality? If a better provider comes along, just plug and play. Why would anyone in sales spend their time mailing Just Listed cards, putting new listings in MLS and numerous websites when a Virtual Assistant could do it all in less time and permit them to spend more time with buyers and sellers? Why not redirect all the savings that result from these efficiencies to provide a higher level of service to the consumer? This can be done today without waiting for the Industry or the big brokers to take the lead. I'm doing it. So can you. Will reinvention work as well in practice as in theory? Stay tuned.
