Richard L Gleason Being a Realtor in the Phoenix valley, I have never had a buyer purchase a home under or near a power line. Regardless of how great the home actually is, my buyers always have that negative feeling regarding the future sale of the home when they are ready to move on - beside any possible health problems. Therefore, we just keep looking until they find that perfect home. I, myself - I would never live under or near a power line, regardless of what the so-called expects say!

Richard L Gleason RE' removing popcorn ceilings: The easy way is to use an insect-sprayer (typically a 2-3 gallon spray tank) and spray the ceiling with water before trying to scrape off the popcorn. Don't soak the ceiling as it doesn't take too much moisture to allow the popcorn to be easily scraped off. Trying to remove it dry (which I've seen done many times) is an impossible task which ends in damage to the ceiling's drywall sheets. Removing it with the moisture in the popcorn leaves a completely smooth surface.
