    I will agree that there are companies out there taking advantage of homeowners with the loan mod business. However this publicity hurts the businesses out there who are really intending to go some good for the homeowner. Yes, a homeowner can call their lender themselves however they are emotionally tied to their home and for the most part do not know what offer or modification is good. A good loan mod company is unemotional to the situation and works hard to get the homeowner a fixed and better situation. The fees, if broken down based on services performed, is done then the homeowner can know that they are paying for something that is only being charged as the file progresses. The ALL UP FRONT companies are the ones to be in question. Shame on the companies that are taking advantage of these situations.
