Right on target, Bernice! Excellent article! Other agents look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them how selective I am about accepting clients. It isn't worth the time and anxiety for me to work with people who aren't a good fit. I started doing this about 2 years when I was ready to change careers due to the stress. My "gut feeling" is right on the mark every time. I don't mind spending two years with a client as long we are a "good fit". The market may be down, but my bottom line is up and I'm happy with my real estate business again!

The following quote is in one of the comments here: "If you download a Facebook app and you allow that app to have access to all of your information (unwise), PLUS your friends have not established their privacy settings in the Apps and Websites section, then in some crazy alternate universe, their information could possibly be retrieved by an app." Get real, most people on FB who use Games and Apps don't even know they have privacy settings, let alone know where they are or how to use them. So yes, most of your friend's info can be retrieved by Apps because most people don't use the privacy settings! Some people are just finding out they need to hide their wall from people who aren't friends! This commenter is giving the FB community way to much credit for knowing their options. As for client privacy disclosure, many agencies will most likely end up adding another disclosure to our list of growing documents that clients are required to acknowledge. Add it to the home inspection disclosure, home warranty disclosure, state or area-specific type disclosures, etc, etc. I'm not advocating "unfriending" clients, but it can also be a problem when a buyer and a seller happen to have a mutual friend and their walls can be read by other friends. Deals have been lost over this situation.

I can so relate to this, Kris! Like Jay said, "pure genius". Personally, I've chosen to take back my life and not "jump" every time the phone rings. I barely remember my kid's growing up. I was too busy doing business.(attempting to be Wonder Woman) No one can do it all and do it well. Something ends up suffering. Balance is required. I have a better quality of life and better quality clients now. Yes, we have to make a living, but if it comes at the expense of our family and our sanity, it's not worth the money. I can't imagine anyone's last words being "I wish I had spent more time at the office or on the computer".
