For me, my facebook has it's own purpose of staying connected with my friends and families. I post certain things there which are local and although real estate related (including links to my listing websites) but they are something I think my friends would not mind seeing because I know those are the people who cares about what's going on in my life, just as I am about them. I use it to stay connected and sometimes, make new friends via friends that I know. This, eventually, is the best way to grown our business, when we do that (the exchanging of information people care about) as a priority and with sincerity and not as a secondary purpose. Facebook has pages allowing business contents to be posted and people to be fan of; which I am sure most of the readers here know. I have page for Marin County Real Estate and that is for business purposes. I am fans to certain business / groups pages; selectively again! Although Marin county is one of the least affordable (at the same time, one of the most desirable) areas in the country; but due to recent corrections in housing prices, especially in the starter home categories; along with the historical low interest rates and the 'up to' $8,000 tax credit; coupled with diligent searches, patience and strategic offers, we are seeing an increase in first time home buyers coming into the market and owning their first homes in Marin! Many have saved up downpayment over the years, have stable income and are just waiting for this opportunity - they can now own their homes for a mortgage/insurance/tax combined payment of close to or slightly more than their monthly rent - I have some very happy buyer clients recently!
