I haven't yet seen the specifics about the previous homeowner tax credit. Does this only apply to homeowners who sell after November 6, or would a homeowner who sold 2 years ago and is now renting be allowed to take the $6500 credit? They don't qualify as "first time buyers" because they owned within 3 years. I have several clients who might want to take advantage of this if allowed! Unfortunately, consumers really like free. The traditional commission model of only being paid for success takes all the risk away from the clients, and that is how many of them want it. I am an "Accredited Consultant of Real Estate", and offer to be paid by the specific task, or the hour, or other ways that are measureable, but they have to sign a contract and pay as they go. Even though it offers them considerable savings, they really don't like assuming our risk and 99 out 100 will still choose traditional pay-for-success-only!
