Nishimoto moves SoCal digs

Nishimoto Trading Co., one of Japan's oldest and largest international distributors of Asian food products, signed a 219,000-square-foot industrial lease at Golden Springs Business Center in Santa Fe Springs, Calif.

The value of the transaction was $15 million.

Golden Springs Business Center is a 265-acre master planned business park comprised of 26 warehouse and distribution buildings.

Nishimoto, which distributes Asahi Beer, Golden Ginger, China Sea, Hinoichi Tofu and hundreds of other brands to major U.S. markets, will move its U.S. headquarters to this new, larger location, according to Clyde Stauff of Colliers Seeley International, the brokerage firm hired to market the Golden Springs project.

The distributor plans to move in February 2004 after making extensive tenant improvements to the building to accommodate the company's storage, refrigeration and distribution needs.

In addition to Stauff, Stephen Calhoun also of Colliers Seeley International represented the lessor, Golden Springs Business Center. CB Richard Ellis represented Nishimoto Foods.
