Most real estate agents took cash home as newbies
Inman Pulse shows 71% profited during their first year in the biz

Nearly three-quarters of Inman News readers proved to the Rookie Realtor that you really can make money your first year in the real estate business.
About 71 percent of readers responding to a survey said they made money that crucial first year. An additional 15 percent said they did not make money their first year as an agent.
Another 8 percent of survey respondents said they broke even their first year in the business.
Realty sales agents earned an average $39,300 in gross personal income in 2002, according to the National Association of Realtors latest member survey that was released in November. The gross income of brokers was $65,300 for the same year.
Respondents to the Inman News survey didn't specify how much money they made during their first year as a real estate agent.
