L.A. investor lands Windy City shops
Joint venture unloads fully occupied center

Marcus & Millichap brokered the sale of The Yards Plaza, a 265,359-square-foot shopping center in Chicago.
The value of the transaction was more than $19 million.
The Yards Plaza is located at the corner of 47th Street and Damen Avenue, an infill urban neighborhood minutes from the downtown loop in Chicago. The center was 100 percent occupied at the time of sale by three national credit anchor-tenants: Burlington Coat Factory, Food 4 Less and Value City Department Store.
A partnership between Simon Property Group Inc. and the Teacher's Retirement System of the State of Illinois (TRS) sold the property to Los Angeles-based Yards Plaza LLC.
Encino, Calif.-based Marcus & Millichap is a commercial real estate brokerage.
