LandAmerica expands in Virginia

Richmond, Va.-based LandAmerica Financial Group has purchased The Closing Co., a title insurance and settlement services provider serving residential and commercial customers throughout central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley.

Founded in Charlottesville in 1994, The Closing Co. was one of the first firms in its region to offer customers both title and settlement services under one roof, according to a press statement. The company grew and eventually added offices in Staunton, Ruckersville and Palmyra.

President Cheri A. Lewis will remain with the company following the acquisition.
