LandAmerica grows real estate inspection service

LandAmerica Financial Group, through its subsidiary Inspectech, purchased Inspection Pros Inc., of San Ramon, Calif., and Becker Engineering of Cincinnati, Ohio. Both companies provide commercial and residential property inspections and will further expand Inspectech's presence in key metropolitan markets.

Operating since 1993, Inspection Pros is one of the largest inspection companies in the East Bay market of San Francisco. Paul Bloomberg, the company's founder, will continue in his role as president of Inspection Pros and will participate at the executive level on all national growth initiatives for Inspectech.

Becker Engineering has been in operation since 1989, serving the entire Cincinnati area. Bob Becker, the company's founder, will also continue in his current role and be responsible for continued expansion into other key Ohio markets.

Richmond, Va.-based LandAmerica Financial Group Inc. (NYSE: LFG) has more than 800 offices and 10,000 active agents in the United States, Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America. The company's subsidiaries are Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Co., Lawyers Title Insurance Corp., Transnation Title Insurance Co., LandAmerica OneStop and Inspectech.
