LandAmerica grows real estate title service

LandAmerica Financial Group, through its Lawyers Title Insurance Corp. subsidiary, acquired Lawyers Title Agency of North Florida Inc. and Lawyers Title Agency of North Florida, West Division Inc. The acquisitions enhance LandAmerica's presence in the Florida Panhandle.

The Lawyers Title Agency companies have approximately 90 employees working in 10 offices located throughout Escambia, Santa Rosa and Bay counties in Florida.

Falcon B. Sellars Jr. is principal of both Lawyers Title Agency companies and will continue managing them following the acquisition.

Richmond, Va.-based LandAmerica Financial Group Inc. (NYSE: LFG) has more than 800 offices and 10,000 active agents in the United States, Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America. The company's subsidiaries are Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Co., Lawyers Title Insurance Corp., Transnation Title Insurance Co., LandAmerica OneStop and Inspectech.
