Real estate forecast teleconference set for Thursday

Housing, finance and mortgage industry experts on Thursday will present residential real estate and economic forecasts for 2005.

The National Association of Home Builders is hosting a teleconference at 1 p.m. EST on Thursday featuring four speakers: David Seiders, Chief Economist, National Association of Home Builders; David Berson, Chief Economist, Fannie Mae; Frank Nothaft, Chief Economist, Freddie Mac; and James Glassman, Senior Economist, JP Morgan Chase.

Experts will focus on such industry issues as the labor market, interest rates and housing starts, according to an announcement this week by the National Association of Home Builders. Discussion topics will include the role of the investor and speculator in the 2004 house-price surge and the current forces affecting the mortgage and housing market. Participants will discuss their predictions and respond to questions from callers.

The Annual Meeting of Members of the NAHB is set for Friday, Jan. 14 in the Mediterranean Ballroom of the JW Marriott Grande Lakes Hotel in Orlando, Fla. The association members will elect directors and state representatives at the meeting.
