GMH grows student housing in 2 states
Buys buildings in Illinois, North Carolina
By Inman News, Wednesday, August 31, 2005.GMH Communities Trust announced that its student housing division, College Park Communities, has acquired two class A, student housing properties in Illinois and North Carolina.
The total value of the transaction was approximately $37.5 million.
The first property, Presidential Tower, serves the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and features 136 units in a 22-story building. The purchase price was approximately $23 million.
The second property, Campus Walk, serves the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and features 289 units among six three-story buildings. The purchase price was approximately $6.7 million.
GMH Communities Trust is a publicly traded Maryland real estate investment trust.
