Waitex buys former Huffman-Koos warehouse
Site includes retail space
By Inman News, Thursday, September 8, 2005.Waitex, a third-party logistics firm specializing in warehouse and distribution for the apparel industry, has purchased a large warehouse/distribution property in Linden, N.J.
The value of the transaction was more than $21 million.
The 386,000-square-foot property, located at 1800 Lower Road, originally was built for Huffman-Koos in 1974.
The Darby Corp. sold the property, which is situated on 18 acres.
The property also includes a 60,000-square-foot retail store, which formerly served as an outlet center for Huffman-Koos. Waitex will market the retail store component for lease to a retail tenant.
CB Richard Ellis represented Waitex in the transaction, while Cushman & Wakefield represented Darby.
