Investcorp and Brickman Associates together purchased the property from The Bernstein Cos. for an undisclosed price.
The Maritime Plaza I and II properties encompass 345,736 square feet of class A office space. The two buildings that comprise the property were constructed in 2001 and 2003, respectively, on land leased from the Washington Gas Co. under a 99-year lease.
The Maritime Plaza buildings are located within a master-planned development that will eventually include additional upscale office complexes, as well as hotel properties. This development is part of a broader, large-scale revitalization of southeastern Washington, D.C., including new projects in the planning stages or under development, such as the proposed construction of the baseball stadium for the Washington Nationals.
