FEMA extends deadline for hotel lodging of hurricane evacuees 
Trade group endorses transition to longer-term housing
By Inman News, Wednesday, November 23, 2005.The U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency this week announced a two-week extension of the deadline for termination of the agency's temporary hotel lodging program for evacuees from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Upon application by state governors, FEMA will further extend the termination deadline for the 10 states with the highest concentration of evacuees through Jan.
