Buys brokerage with nearly 100 agents
By Inman News, Monday, January 16, 2006.HomeServices of America Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, on Friday announced the acquisition of The Guiltinan Group, a boutique residential real estate brokerage firm based in San Diego.
The Guiltinan Group has a team of approximately 100 sales associates operating out of four offices throughout San Diego.
"The acquisition of The Guiltinan Group strengthens our already significant presence in Southern California," said Ron Peltier, president and chief executive officer of HomeServices.
HomeServices' presence in California began in 2002 with the acquisition of Prudential California Realty, a residential real estate company in California. Prudential California Realty has approximately 4,600 sales associates and 82 offices in San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Riverside counties.
Minneapolis-based HomeServices of America operates in 18 states under the following brand names: Carol Jones Realtors, CBSHome Real Estate, Champion Realty, Edina Realty, Esslinger-Wooten-Maxwell Realtors, First Realty/GMAC, Home Real Estate, Iowa Realty, Jenny Pruitt and Associates, Long Realty, Prudential California Realty, Prudential Carolinas Realty, RealtySouth, Rector-Hayden Realtors, Reece & Nichols, Roberts Brothers, Semonin Realtors and Woods Bros. Realty.
