Fitness center to open up in L.A. suburb
Gold's Gym leases indoor, outdoor space
By Inman News, Tuesday, June 13, 2006.The L.A. North/Ventura office of Lee & Associates has negotiated a 15-year, $10 million lease for the first Gold's Gym in Simi Valley, Calif. The site, located in the Simi Valley Plaza at 1357 E. Los Angeles Ave., comprises approximately 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space.
Slated to open in September 2006, the co-ed facilities will include a full complement of fitness equipment and services, including group exercise, personal training and the core weightlifting tradition. Patrons will be able to watch their favorite shows or movies while working out; each cardio machine features a television, and the gym includes a movie theater with 120 workout machines.
The property landlords include Wyoming Partners LLC and Simi Valley Plaza LLC.
"The Simi Valley area was lacking a health club that offered cutting-edge equipment, fitness knowledge and results-orientated environment," said William Banos, vice president and COO of Gold's Gym. "We are focused on creating a unique workout experience at each facility, so the Simi Valley gym will cater to parents with an indoor/outdoor childcare center."
