Sotheby's grows real estate franchise
Luxury network to add 16 countries and territories
By Inman News, Wednesday, July 19, 2006.Sotheby's International Realty is growing its luxury real estate network with master franchise agreements to expand into 16 additional countries and territories, the company said.
Since September 2004, more than 100 companies across the globe have signed multiyear franchise agreements to operate Sotheby's International Realty offices.
The Sotheby's International Realty luxury network currently has more than 325 offices located in 18 countries including Anguilla, Australia, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, France, New Zealand, Saint Barthelemy, Saint Maarten/St. Martin, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States.
Agreements have also been signed with companies located in 16 additional countries and territories, including firms in Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Mexico, Monaco, Nicaragua, Panama, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Saba, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay and the U.S. Virgin Islands. These companies are expected to open Sotheby's International Realty offices in the near future.
Sotheby's International Realty Affiliates Inc. is a subsidiary of Cendant Corp. Residential real estate brokerage firms that join the new Sotheby's International Realty luxury franchise network have access to marketing, information technology, operations, public relations, recruiting, client referrals and training.
