Chicago commercial investor sinks money into San Francisco
Buys 1920s space downtown
By Inman News, Friday, August 18, 2006.Grubb & Ellis Co. recently announced that M&J Wilkow Properties, a Chicago-based real estate firm, purchased a 147,989-square-foot office building in the North Financial District of downtown San Francisco.
The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
The eight-story building, built in 1929 and featuring art-deco architecture, is located at 500 Sansome St. It was renovated in 1961, 1986 and 2001.
WXI/SAN Realty LLC of Newport Beach sold the asset, which was 88.5 percent leased at the time of sale.
