Akin Gump Strauss to take 6 floors
By Inman News, Friday, August 18, 2006.The Durst Organization and Bank of America recently announced that Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, an international law firm, has leased 203,000 square feet on floors 41 to 46 at the Bank of America Tower in Manhattan, N.Y.
The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
Located at One Bryant Park, Bank of America Tower was 90 percent leased at the time of the transaction with only floors 37-39 and 47-50 still available.
"The Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park will be New York's premier office building," said Tom Bow of the The Durst Organization. "We are proud that Akin Gump has recognized that One Bryant Park will make an excellent home for their New York office and we look forward to working with them over the coming years."
Designed by Cook + Fox Architects, Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park will be New York's most environmentally advanced office tower, according to a press statement. Its crystalline tower will pierce Manhattan's skyline, and its 51 stories will house 2.1 million square feet of office space. The Durst Organization and Bank of America are seeking a "Platinum Designation" from the U.S. Green Building's Council for the building.
