Trump project gets new owner
Equity firm vows to finish construction of residential tower
By Inman News, Monday, December 4, 2006.An Orlando-based private equity firm has purchased the development project known as Trump Tower Tampa, a 52-story residential high-rise in Tampa, Fla., for an undisclosed price.
Mirabilis Ventures Inc. acquired the property from SimDag Investments LLC, which allegedly wasn't able to secure financing to complete the project. Mirabilis is also looking to acquire additional projects from SimDag's East Coast portfolio.
Although the purchase price was not disclosed, Frank D'Agostino, CEO of SimDag, said in a statement that Trump Tower Tampa is a $309 million project.
"I am delighted to have a partner of Mirabilis' stature involved in this outstanding project. We look forward to their contribution in delivering this, the best residential property in the Tampa Bay area," said Donald J. Trump, CEO of The Trump Organization.
