Real estate rates rise again overnight
30-year fixed rate at 6.39%; 10-year Treasury yield at 5.2%
By Inman News, Thursday, June 14, 2007.Long-term mortgage interest rates were up for the 10th straight night Wednesday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield fell to 5.2 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average gained to 6.39 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate rose to 6.09 percent. The 1-year adjustable was up to 5.59 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield dropped to 5.28 percent.
Rates and bonds are current as of 7:15 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rebounded by 187.34 points, or 1.41 percent, finishing at 13,482.35. The Nasdaq was up 32.54 points, or 1.28 percent, closing at 2,582.31.
