Massive Sun Microsystems deal
Computer co. sells, leases back Northeast campus
By Inman News, Monday, July 2, 2007.Nordblom Co. acquired and partially leased back the Sun Microsystems campus in Burlington, Mass., for a price of $212 million.
The transaction consists of 1.4 million square feet of buildings and undeveloped land at One Network Drive, specifically 805,000 square feet of existing office space and 570,000 square feet of permitted land, all on 158 acres.
Sun has entered into a long-term lease agreement with Nordblom for more than 450,000 square feet.
Sun acquired the property in 1997 and developed five buildings the following year. Two additional buildings were built in 2000 bringing the total size to 805,000 square feet. The property currently includes a fitness center, conference facility and full-service cafeteria.
