Motorola signs Northeast lease extension
Fortune 100 company will stay in New Jersey
By Inman News, Friday, August 10, 2007.Cellular phone maker Motorola Inc. recently decided to extend its lease in South Plainfield, N.J., and has signed a five-year, 145,000-square-foot extension for an undisclosed price.
Motorola will occupy the entire third floor and the majority of the first floor at 1111 Durham Ave., a 245,000-square-foot, three-story office building encompassing 34.5 acres and owned by Wells REIT.
The property features amenities such as a cafeteria, tailboard and drive-in loading, tenant on-site record storage, a baseball field, tennis courts and heliport. The construction of a second building of approximately 143,000 square feet of space is an option available to Wells REIT.
