Overnight real estate rates continue climb
30-year fixed rate increases to 5.8%; 10-year Treasury yield at 4.16%
By Inman News, Tuesday, December 11, 2007.Long-term mortgage interest rates increased Monday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield moved up to 4.16 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average rose to 5.8 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate edged up to 5.38 percent. The 1-year adjustable rate increased to 5.54 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield was also up at 4.62 percent.
Rates and bonds are current as of 7:15 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states.
