A tool to build expert reputation

NAR's HouseLogic provides consumer content to members' blogs

Inman News®

SAN FRANCISCO -- The National Association of Realtors has a tool for members scrambling to find content for their blog, website or social networks: HouseLogic Realtor Content Resource.

This little-known, members-only section of HouseLogic is dedicated to providing association members with content to establish themselves as experts in their field.

HouseLogic.com launched in February. Its content is geared toward homeowners and offers tips on how to maintain and add value to a home, as well as information and advice on home-related issues.

Aaron Wheeler, education chair for the association's Young Professionals Network, told attendees about the site at Agent Reboot last week.

HouseLogic "provides consumers with everything they need to empower and educate them about homeownership. We've created content that you can easily take, package, e-mail, post to a blog ... without reinventing the wheel," Wheeler said.

"Choose one of our collections or create your own and in what format: a Microsoft Word handout, an e-newsletter, a widget to a blog."

Collections of content include such topics as "Get Your Home Sold," "Foreclosure Help: 5 Pros You Need on Your Team," and "Join Forces with Your Neighbors."

Good Morning, I too have have followed HouseLogic for the last 10 months as it is in my "space". I find that more than 1/2 the agents that I poll do not know it is out there... yet understand its probably good content. Once they do know its there getting HL content into the hands of their clients on a consistent basis is difficult. Many agents are fearful of adding widgets, lack HTML skills or simply the unknown. We have added the HouseLogic widget to all our newsletters so agents don't have to worry about updating etc. The House Logic content is wildly popular, very relevant and a true "value add" Congrats to NAR for rolling it out.

Context: When I wrote: "Once they do know its there getting HL content into the hands of their clients on a consistent basis is difficult"

I meant: for those agents that do not have editing/HTML skills, Blogs etc.

Sorry if there was a misunderstanding.
