Jack Guttentag

Jack M. Guttentag has been Jacob Safra Professor of International Banking at the Wharton School, Chief of the Domestic Research Division of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, on the senior staff of the National Bureau of Economic Research, managing editor of the Journal of Finance and the Housing Finance Review, a director of TIAA/CREF, Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh, Guild Mortgage Investments, First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Rochester, and GHR Systems Inc., which he founded. In 1998 he started a second career as the “Mortgage Professor”, writing a nationally syndicated column on home mortgages, developing a widely used web site (www.mtgprofessor.com), and starting programs to certify loan providers including Upfront Mortgage Brokers and Upfront Mortgage Lenders.
