Tom Glassanos

President and CEO, SmartZip, Inc.

Tom is an accomplished software industry executive and innovator, with a history of pioneering leading Internet application businesses.  Tom founded Xign Corporation in 2000 and served as CEO. Under his leadership, Xign built the leading settlement network for business and processed over $100 billion in electronic payments for 70,000 businesses in 35 countries.  Xign was acquired by JPMorgan Chase in 2007.                           

Prior to Xign, Tom was Executive Vice President and General Manager at PeopleSoft where he spearheaded development of new generation Internet-based ERP applications.  In the mid 90’s, Tom built the industry leading Internet banking application business at Edify Corporation enabling over 300 U.S. banks to offer retail banking services over the Internet. Tom also served as Vice President of Marketing for two successful ventures from startup through IPO, and spent seven years at Hewlett Packard Company, where he led product strategy for enterprise software.

Tom holds an MBA from Harvard University, a Masters in Engineering from Tufts University, and B.A. and B.S. degrees, summa cum laude, also from Tufts University.
