Re: 'Industry mourns loss of Robert Bruss' (Sept. 26)

Dear Editor:

Bob Bruss shall be dearly missed, not only by those lucky enough to know him and call him a friend but by those hundreds of thousands whose lives are better today for his knowledge, dedication and hard work. He taught people how to make the system work, a system that can befuddle even the most expert expert. It was his gift, and he did such a wonderful job of sharing it.

Above all, Bob was a class act. In a business with more than its share of egos and acrimony, not once in the years I worked with Bob can I remember a negative word, either spoken or in print.

We are all much poorer for his passing.

God bless you, Bob.

Dear Editor:

My jaw literally dropped when I read of the passing of Robert Bruss. I looked forward to his writings and opinions regularly in Inman News. I didn't know him, but I felt like I knew him after reading him for so long. I am saddened, and I will miss him.

Dear Editor:

Bob Bruss was always a man who listened well to the thoughts of others in the real estate profession. He had a knack for making people feel like their opinion really mattered. I had a chance to show Bob a report on his Minnesota investment property at the recent Real Estate Connect event, and he was interested in the smallest detail not only for himself, but in what it all meant to real estate professionals and consumers.

He was an extraordinary student of everything real estate and an extraordinary teacher to all who listened to him on any real estate topic. Bob's passing is a great tragedy for his family and friends and most assuredly to the real estate industry. A great mind has been silenced, but Bob has left us all a great store of his knowledge by way of hs countless writings on the subject of real estate. Hopefully, many of us will continue to learn from him through those writings.

Dear Editor:

I am both shocked and sad tonight seeing the headline and reading the news. I read every report he wrote, and shared some with my clients and agents.

Bob's insight as a home buyer, seller and lawyer and passion to protect the consumer will be dearly missed.

Dear Editor:

Robert Bruss is probably the only person in the real estate industry that will not be replaced any time soon. Rarely do we get the chance to get such rock-solid advice from one person regarding our industry. There is now a huge hole in the memory of our avocation, and Mr. Bruss will surely be missed by all. It is always hard to see one of the greats pass away from our world, but this time it seems harder.
