Let's speed up the short-sale process

Dear Editor:
I totally agree with the comments by Darrell Blomberg of Phoenix.
The short sale is the most expeditious way out of this maze. The bank avoids the significant cost of foreclosure; the seller doesn't take as big a hit on his credit; the buyer is happy; and most of all, it is reducing the glut of inventory on the market, which will get us back on the right path and stabilize a bit.
In addition, whole neighborhoods will not have the stigma of having as many foreclosed homes, but, rather, legitimate sales.
The bean counters need to expedite this whole process, and we can then get on with it.
