Re: ' HUD rolls out new RESPA reform proposal' (March 14)

Dear Editor:

I've always stated if contracts, etc. were put in everyday language and spelled out, we would have less lawsuits and everyone would understand what they were purchasing.

I think the new forms are great. A buyer would understand all the charges and the hidden amounts would be disclosed. I have never understood contracts that have language that no one other than an attorney could understand.

That is what we have now: this addendum, this disclaimer, etc., until the average person has no clue what they are signing or agreeing to. There is no way a person would be able to read the entire contract or HUD (form) and understand what is being said. This is a great start.
