Re: 'Buyer wronged by unlicensed agent?' (Nov. 13)

Dear Editor:

Lenders, by law, must advertise their license. Brokers at mortgage companies must use their licenses as well.

Realtors could and should display their license (and in some cases the license number is required to schedule a showing).

Buyers and sellers have a right to know if their agent is (subject) to disciplinary actions by their boards. There would be fewer bad agents doing business and more good agents getting more business.

I oftentimes think agents take an "I don't care" attitude when they find that a client is troubled, and instead of trying to eliminate or solve a problem they abandon (the client).

Having a license number displayed on business cards and marketing material is a great way for potential clients to research who they will entrust with their investment.
