NAR proposal: dues increase and democracy
Letter to the Editor
By Inman News, Wednesday, March 23, 2011.Re: 'NAR floats $40 dues hike for political campaigns' (March 22)
Dear Editor:
The article states: "The Supreme Court ruling on 'soft money' restrictions has opened the floodgates for independent campaign expenditures, and (the National Association of Realtors) must up its spending in order to maintain its voice, association executives were told."
Democracy is working so well here, it's nice to see we are promoting it in countries around the world.

If we (members) wanted to contribute to PACs, as individuals, we could write our own check. Otherwise, it would be better to opt-in or opt-out and stop the mandatory contribution trend.
