A New Decade in Real Estate
2020 Re-Envision Survey Results
By Andrea V. Brambila
Inman News readers peered ahead to the year 2020 in a recent online real estate survey that drew over 500 responses.
They envision a future in which real estate services are increasingly fee-based, with fees varying based on services selected, or flat fees paid out for a complete package of services.
There will be fewer real estate professionals working in the year 2020, respondents also said, with fewer brokerage offices, real estate trade associations and multiple listings services.
Even so, real estate professionals will offer more services by 2020, even as they spend less face time with clients, the survey found.
Improved real estate statistics, value estimates and predictive tools; online social networking and marketing tools; and 3-D and virtual reality technologies will be among the most important technologies in the year 2020, according to respondents.
This special report highlights the business and tech trends that will carry the real estate industry into the next decade.
