Insider's Guide to Real Estate Connect

A collection of Inman News stories from Real Estate Connect SF '09

By Matt Carter, Leslie Mladinich and Glenn Roberts Jr.

In case you weren't able to attend the Real Estate Connect conference in San Francisco, which ran from Aug. 5–7, 2009 ... we're sorry to hear it.

And we'd like you to read about all that you missed.

From the ever-humble Craig Newmark, whose simple e-mail list exploded into a global network of online community sites, to Alfred Lin, chief operating officer at Zappos.com, a customer service-centric company that Amazon.com has agreed to buy for about $847 million, the latest Real Estate Connect conference showcased businesses, strategies and technologies that are all the rage even in these times of economic hardship.

The conference included vigorous discussions about online marketing, social media, search-engine optimization, lead generation, the future role of multiple listing services, mobile applications, and big vs. small and alternative vs. traditional real estate brokerages, among other pressing industry topics.

A section of the conference dubbed Start-Up Alley, and a panel titled Connect Launchpad introduced innovations by industry newcomers, and a Connect Create competition pitted two techies teams in a 48-hour race to build original online real estate applications.

The following is a list of Inman News articles that chronicle the latest Real Estate Connect conference (also, you can click here to view online videos featuring full sessions from the latest Real Estate Connect event and past events, too):
