Authorities in Oakland County, Mich., think that a woman who was found dead in the back seat of her car in the garage of a home where she lived alone had been there at least five years, and that her death went unnoticed because her bills — including her mortgage — were set on auto pay.
When the $54,000 the woman was believed to have had in the bank when she died ran out, the home went into foreclosure. A contractor working for the company maintaining the home for the lender found her mummified body in the garage on Wednesday. A neighbor told the Detroit Free Press that the lawn was always neat, and mail never piled up. Source: freep.com.
