Jonah Landman isn’t a licensed broker or agent in New York, but he’s helping small brokers market their listings to clients ranging from first-time homebuyers to experienced investors whom he charges $200 an hour, the New York Times’ Emily Weinstein reports.
Landman lands clients through his “smart and opinionated” blog, BK to the Fullest. According to Laz Benitez, a spokesman for the New York Department of State, real estate licensing authorities had not received any complaints about Landman, and Benitez was not familiar with the specifics of Landman’s business, but that it did sound like the services he is providing “does indeed fall into broker activity.”
Landman acknowledges that his business falls in a legal gray area, the Times reports. Source: nytimes.com.
