A 9.56-acre site in St. Paul, Minn., could become condos or townhomes with views of the Mississippi River after a 1920s power plant that’s been out of commission for 40 years is demolished. Scottsdale, Ariz.-based St. Paul River Walk LLC has purchased the property for $4.05 million, Finance & Commerce reports.
A River Walk spokesman wouldn’t say how the company intends to redevelop the site, but it does plan to have wrecking balls swinging against the walls of the massive brick power plant “before the snow flies.”
The St. Paul City Council in July declined to act on a recommendation by the city’s Heritage Preservation Commission that the building be designated as a historic landmark. Source: finance-commerce.com
