Stewart Wade, 99, an agent with Honolulu-based Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties, says he loves real estate too much to retire, so he bolsters his daily morning Pacific Ocean swims with something he’s done since 1968: help clients buy and sell real estate.
Wade works about 20 hours per week primarily out of his home, he told Business Insider. Work includes maintaining contact with past clients and negotiating home sales, he said.
Regular exercise, a realization that money isn’t everything and a good attitude contributed to his longevity, Wade said.
Real estate has also been lucrative for Wade in his later years. “I made more money in my 80s than I ever did in the rest of my life,” Wade said.
