A Jackson Hole, Wyoming, real estate broker who was worried that the mountain resort community wasn’t doing enough to market itself to foreign visitors has taken it upon himself to become a one-man chamber of commerce, opening up a visitor center that’s aimed at helping Chinese visitors find their way around.
Actually, Jackson Hole — a “gateway community” to Yellowstone National Park — already has a chamber of commerce, which a spokeswoman says does consider China “a target market.”
That’s not good enough for Bruce Simon, broker-owner of Prime Properties of Jackson Hole, who says 60 million Chinese will make overseas trips this year.
Simon has installed Li Wang, a Mandarin-speaking teacher, to run the “East Meets West Chinese Information Center.” She’s helping tourists discover hidden gems like the shooting range and the Bar J Chuckwagon, the Jackson Hole News & Guide’s Brielle Schaeffer reports.
It may come as no surprise that Simon also offers real estate and investment tours. “Chinese are buying real estate all over the U.S,” he told the paper. Source: jhnnewsandguide.com.
