Housing.co.in, a map-based listings search site based in India, says it plans to go global with the acquisition of the domain Housing.com for “around $500,000,” which founder Advitiya Sharma thinks could be the biggest domain deal of the year.
The year-old startup, headquarted in Mumbai, is in 10 cities in India, and has “been getting a lot of traction from prospective partners from other countries,” Sharma said.
According to NextBigWhat.com, the company landed $2.5 million in third-round funding from Nexus Venture Partners in June.
Launched in 2004, Housing.com was on the market in 2006 with a minimum asking price of $800,000. The site featured online home search tools, mortgage education and information, find-a-Realtor information, calculators, and seller tools and resources, among other things, Inman News reported at the time.
