The Atlantic has published a gallery of before-and-after photos to mark Hurricane Sandy’s first anniversary on Oct. 29.

For each pair of photos, the first shows a location shortly after it was impacted by Sandy, and the second the same location nearly a year later.

Sandy caused more than $65 billion in damage and hundreds of deaths from Jamaica to New England, according to The Atlantic.
