San Francisco voters this week rejected a 134-unit condo high-rise on the city’s waterfront, and opponents of that project have now set their sites on a plan to build a new arena for the NBA’s Warriors on the bay, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Former Mayor Art Agnos, who led the charge against the condo tower at 8 Washington, says the city’s waterfront should be preserved for affordable housing. If developers and the city can’t find another location for the new Warriors arena, Agnos says opponents are ready to sponsor a ballot measure to defeat it. Source: sfgate.com
