It’s not clear if it’s a stunt or a fed-up landowner making a statement, but a Craigslist ad supposedly offering land in Blaine, Ky., for sale starts out by describing it as “heavily forested” in a “rural mountainous setting” before going into more detail about “radioactive soils,” flooding, and “corroded” electrical lines.
“This property is not suitable for … pets, children, adults, fishing, swimming, hiking or farm animals,” the purported seller states. “Really, it’s not suitable for building or habitation.”
The area of Kentucky where the property is supposedly situated “is home to idled and abandoned coal mines” and oil drilling, Climate Progress reports — Blaine’s population has dwindled to just a few dozen people. Source: thinkprogress.org
