Home sales through the TorontoMLS system dipped 2 percent in April from a year ago, the Greater Toronto Area Realtors reported today. New listings were up 11 percent, to 18,270, with nearly two homes coming on the market for each of the 9,811 sold. The average selling price was up 2 percent to $526,335. Some have suggested weather played a role in the sales slowdown. Toronto Real Estate Board President Ann Hannah said some households who put decisions to purchase on hold after the federal government tightened mortgage lending guidelines are again looking to buy.
