Agents working out of Kansas City, Mo.-based brokerage and franchisor United Real Estate’s five company-owned offices closed 2,210 transactions in 2013, up from 732 in 2012, the company said.
The “agent-centric” brokerage, which charges agents a monthly office fee and a transaction fee on each side they close, announced in November that in 2013 it added 375 agents to its company-owned offices in the Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., markets.
United Real Estate expanded into franchising last year, and now has affiliated brokerages in Kansas City; Louisville and Lexington, Ky.; Scottsdale, Ariz.; Pomona, Pasadena and Beverly Hills, Calif., and the Greater Los Angeles area. Franchisee Bonnie Mays said last month she expects to grow her new Louisville office to 80 to 100 agents in the next three to four years. Source: businesswire.com.
